How Does it Work?

The LightSheer™ diode laser gently cools the surface of the skin while pulses of light are absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The absorbed light heats the hair structure which damages the existing hair and destroys the regrowth potential of the follicle - without damaging the surrounding normal tissue. A topical anesthetic may be applied and then the hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied.

How Many Treatments are Needed?

The number of treatments required varies, depending on the density and location of the hair growth. Most people need between 5-8 treatments. Treatment sessions are normally eight weeks apart and you will observe a significant reduction of hair within 2-3 weeks after your second treatment.

Results to be Expected?

Most patients achieve permanent hair reduction. Clinical studies have shown that hair may not grow back for up to one year or more in some cases. And, if the hair does return, it usually comes back lighter and less dense.
