How Does it Work?
Botox relaxes overactive musles that cause wrinkles. The doctor deterimines which area of the face to treat by asking the patient to contract the muscles so wrinkles can be seen.
How Safe is It?
The long term use of Botox has proven it to be effective and safe. To date, no systemic complications associated with Botox injections have been documented.
Results to be Expected?
Botox injections are a temporary solution for the treatment of wrinkles. It takes a few days to realize the effect of Botox injections. The effects last from 3-4 months and require repeat treatments. Possible side effects include swelling, bruising or a burning sensation during injection or temporary headache and nausea.
